Following a number of recent contract awards across Northern Ireland, our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their growing commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering a wide range of construction, refurbishment, and redevelopment projects across multiple sectors.

The Role
Reporting to senior management, you will play a key role in both the estimating and commercial management of projects, ensuring costs are controlled and financial targets are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings and specifications to identify labour, material, and subcontractor requirements
• Prepare enquiries and obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
• Negotiate costs, rates, and packages to achieve best value
• Manage subcontractor valuations and final accounts
• Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts within agreed timescales
• Measure works in line with contract schedules of rates
• Assess and manage variations, additional works, and cost analysis
• Liaise with clients to agree rates, valuations, and commercial matters
• Produce accurate monthly cost reports and forecasts
• Work closely with operational and finance teams to ensure profitable project delivery
• Attend site visits and progress meetings as required

What We're Looking For

• Degree, HND, or HNC in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying and/or Estimating role within a construction environment
• Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project
• Full UK driving licence
