MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for our client, a growing construction company delivering major new-build projects across the UK and Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of commercial management across significant projects, with genuine progression into a senior commercial management position.
Key Responsibilities Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of major construction projects from procurement through to completion. Lead subcontract procurement, valuations, cost reporting and final accounts. Prepare and manage monthly valuations, CVRs and commercial reports. Manage variations, contractual entitlement and commercial negotiations. Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project life-cycle. Work closely with Contracts, Site and Design teams to maintain strong commercial control.
Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and final settlements. Provide regular commercial reporting and updates to senior management. Support the successful delivery of projects across the UK. Requirements Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment. Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or equivalent. Experience delivering significant new-build construction projects. Strong commercial and contractual awareness. Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of commercial responsibilities.
Experience with in healthcare, care homes, hotels, residential or similar high-specification developments would be advantageous. Willingness to travel regularly to projects throughout the UK.
