Your new company Hays is delighted to be working with a highly regarded and well-established construction and civil engineering contractor in the recruitment of a Civils Estimator to join their team based in across the civil engineering and infrastructure sectors, this is an excellent opportunity to join an experienced commercial and pre-construction team and play an important role in securing new projects.

Your new role As Civils Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for a range of civil engineering closely with the wider estimating, commercial and operational teams, you will review tender documentation, drawings and specifications to develop a full understanding of project requirements. You will prepare cost estimates, obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations, identify risks and opportunities and contribute to tender role will involve taking projects through the estimating process from initial enquiry to final submission, ensuring tenders are commercially sound, competitive and delivered within the required timescales.

What you'll need to succeed You will ideally have previous experience within an estimating or commercial role in the civil engineering or construction sector, with a strong understanding of construction costs, tendering and project should be commercially minded, comfortable working with detailed tender information and able to communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers and internal project coming from a Quantity Surveying or engineering background who have relevant civil engineering experience and are looking to develop their career within estimating may also be of interest.
