Job Description Customer Care Support Associate 12 Month Fixed Term Contracts

Location:

Peterborough (We believe in the power of in-person collaboration, and our hybrid model requires colleagues to be in the office a minimum of 40% of their time after fully trained) Salary: A competitive salary starting from £26,228 depending on the experience you can bring. Closing Date: 4th Sept 2026

We're Aegon. We're a company of ambitious, positive problem-solvers who get things done. We're a team, not a group of individuals. Collaboration is our life force, and we believe it's our duty to leave things better than we find them. We help people live their best lives. We help them with the big stuff, for the moments that matter:
Pensions, Savings, Investments.

As a Customer Care Support Associate, you’re the person that our customers rely on to help them manage their financial wellbeing. You’ll process customer requests, answer queries and work with your team to solve any complex issues.

We’ll train you. We’re not looking for financial experts (though they are very welcome!) because when you join us, you’ll join our Customer Care Academy and learn from some of our experts. Before you deal with customers, we’ll give you the skills and the technical knowhow to delight and support them.

We’ll help you develop a career. If you want to take your career further, we’ll help you work towards a professional qualification in financial administration or planning.

We’d love to hear from you if:
You’ve got experience in operational or customer service roles (financial services experience is a bonus). You have strong analytical skills and can interpret complex information to make informed decisions. You’re detail‑focused, accurate, and comfortable working in a compliance‑driven environment. You’ve worked across multiple systems and enjoy solving problems or resolving exceptions. You’re a confident communicator who can work effectively with internal stakeholders.

You can work under pressure while maintaining quality and control. You’re organised, process‑driven, and proactive in managing workflow.

Putting the Customer First. At Aegon, our customers are at the heart of everything we do. In this role, we encourage our colleagues to prioritise direct communication—wherever possible, you will be asked to call customers before using other forms of communication. This approach helps us build stronger relationships and ensures we’re delivering the best possible service.

How we’ll look after you

We’ll help you develop and grow with our Pay & Progression scheme. By becoming an expert in your role and delivering exceptional service at the highest quality, your financial reward can grow up. 34 days leave per year (including bank holidays, pro-rated for part-time) We’re serious about your future and our enhanced pension scheme is now in place. We ask you to contribute 3% of your salary to your pension and we’ll put in 9%.

If you decide to contribute more, we’ll match it up to a combined total of 20% of your salary (that’s 7% from you and 13% from us). We support your personal wellbeing with healthcare, dental, holiday trading, cycle to work scheme and gym memberships. We also offer life assurance, critical illness cover, enhanced parental leave to help our staff live their best lives, including retail discount vouchers, subsidised restaurant and online GP appointments.

The

legal bits

We’ll need you to confirm you have the right to work in the UK. If we offer you a job and you accept, there are some checks we need to complete before you can start with us. This will include a credit and criminal record check, as well as providing satisfactory references.

Equal Opportunity Employer

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their age, disability, race, religion/belief, gender, sexual orientationor gender identity. Our story started over 190 years ago, right here in the UK. We were originally founded as Scottish Equitable, but today we’re part of Aegon. We’re the UK’s largest investment platform, and we put financial wellbeing at the heart of our organisation.

As a purpose‑led business, we're focused on supporting our customers as they navigate through new stages of their lives and all the moments that matter. We’re here for everyone who wants to make the most of their time on the planet and leave it a little better than they found it, however grand or humble their ambitions.
