Building and Fabric Designer - Higher Professional and Technical Officer (HPTO)
Property Services Division (PSD) provides hard Facilities Management & Property Maintenance Services, through a range of professional and technical services, to a broad range of NICS and wider public sector clients. Property Services Division’s role is to provide a range of high quality, professional property and hard facilities management services i.e. reactive maintenance requests, Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and associated remedial works (cyclical, scheduled and planned maintenance) as well as teams delivering construction projects up to a value of £500,000.
HPTO Building & Fabric Designers play a major role with regard to the delivery of construction projects up to a value of £500,000, ensuring the best outcomes for clients in terms of quality, cost and timeliness are achieved.
- Project feasibility, brief development, production of scheme & detail design information, statutory approvals, site inspections & building surveys
- Managing the delivery of multi-disciplinary and architectural works projects (up to a value of £500k) in compliance with public sector procurement policy
- Directing and supervising contractors undertaking works
- NVQ Level 4 qualification in Architecture / Architectural Technology / Building Construction / Building Studies
- Post-qualification experience: minimum 3 years in the delivery of Architectural services/works in a maintenance environment, typically within buildings; experience includes the delivery of projects and the production of architectural/construction drawings using AutoCAD
- NVQ Level 5 qualification in Architecture / Architectural Technology / Building Construction / Construction Engineering with Surveying
- Post-qualification experience: minimum 2 years in the delivery of Architectural services/works in a maintenance environment, typically within buildings; experience includes the delivery of projects and the production of architectural/construction drawings using AutoCAD
- Honours Degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification in Architecture / Architectural Technology / Building Construction / Building Surveying
- Post-qualification experience: minimum 1 year in the delivery of Architectural services/works in a maintenance environment, typically within buildings; experience includes the delivery of projects and the production of architectural/construction drawings using AutoCAD
- Access to a form of transport to meet the full requirements of the post, including regular visits to a wide range of sites across Northern Ireland, some of which may be inaccessible by public transport and may require security clearance
- Shortlisting will be based on objective evaluation of the breadth and depth of information provided in response to eligibility criteria
