Job Description & How to Apply Below
Their AI Services team explores, tests and shapes the future of AI-powered experiences across the business - creating proof-of-concepts, prototypes and early-stage products that show how emerging technology can deliver real value for customers and the business.
Role Overview This isn't a traditional UX role. We're looking for a designer who's genuinely curious about how AI systems work and comfortable working closely with engineers to shape experiences that are technically feasible and genuinely valuable. You'll combine strong UX craft with technical curiosity - understanding how model behaviour, architecture, cost and performance considerations shape the experiences you create - and bring what you learn back to the team through prototypes and demonstrations.
Above all, you'll care deeply about the end user, testing and validating ideas continuously and helping embed a culture of experimentation across the wider team.
Key Responsibilities Produce user-centred AI-powered experiences, prototypes, journeys and interaction flows from concept through to execution Design, build and test proof-of-concepts exploring new technologies and AI capabilities Work closely with engineers to understand technical constraints and architectural trade-offs Conduct customer interviews, usability testing and concept testing to validate real user problems Create high-fidelity prototypes that help stakeholders make decisions quickly Present concepts, prototypes and learnings confidently to senior stakeholders and leadership Create design artefacts that support successful handover into delivery teams Facilitate design-led workshops with product, engineering and business stakeholders What You'll Need Essential Significant experience as a UX, Product or Experience Designer across web and mobile A strong portfolio showing high-quality design craft and AI-native experiences, with clear evidence of your contribution Experience designing, validating and optimising solutions through research, usability testing and analytics Experience building prototypes using AI tools or modern design/development technology Comfortable discussing technical concepts, architecture and trade-offs with engineers Excellent communication and storytelling skills, confident presenting to senior stakeholders Right to work in Northern Ireland (no sponsorship available)
Desirable Experience designing AI-native, conversational, agentic or multimodal experiences Understanding of AI architecture, prompting, retrieval, tool calling or agent orchestration Experience contributing to early-stage product discovery or innovation initiatives Front-end skills or experience building coded prototypes
Experience with design systems and accessibility standards Benefits & Package 36 days' holiday, bonus, and much more - plus the opportunity to become a founding designer on entirely new AI-powered experiences. Hybrid working, 2 days per week in Belfast. Get in touch with Colin directly at
