About the business unit
The Buildings Unit (BLD) has a major presence in Mott Mac Donald's regional offices throughout the UK and mainland Europe, providing a wide range of diverse and transferable cross‑sector skills across five key Sectors;
Advisory, Built Environment, Energy, Transportation and Water. We also provide local services to customers and technical leadership to the rest of the Group in these sectors.

Overview of the role

We are looking for a Senior Architect to join our growing architecture team in Belfast. The architecture team is part of the Buildings unit within Mott Mac Donald and provides services at all project stages on a wide variety of projects.

We have a diverse portfolio of interesting projects in most building typologies where we work with clients across Ireland, UK, Europe and globally and cover all aspects of the project life‑cycle. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Architect to join our team, to work on a long‑term project opportunity, while developing your own career. You’ll be a part of a growing architectural team, coordinating proactively with other engineering disciplines as well as running projects autonomously.

The workload will include working on projects in a variety of sectors including but not limited to - aviation, industrial, schools and infrastructure projects amongst others.

Candidate specification

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified or equivalent in architecture with work experience within an Architectural Practice or similar environment in the UK/ Ireland and have suitable experience of running projects. The candidate will be creative, confident, with a keen eye for detail, possess excellent technical knowledge and have strong project running and people management skills. The role will also involve working with the senior management team and to get involved in the future growth of the business.

Essential:

• Qualified Architect with ARB registration or equivalent
• Demonstrable post qualification experience
• Ability to deliver projects from a design and technical background
• Experience of project delivery
• Experience of working with Revit and BIM
• Should have a genuine interest in Architecture and the Built Environment and be aware of relevant current technical building legislation and guidance such as Building Regulations and British Standards
• Should be prepared to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Be a team leader with ability to build a team of architects and support staff
