Are you a graduate eager to gain hands‑on classroom experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Are you considering a career in teaching, educational psychology, or child development?
We’re looking for an enthusiastic SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in the RG4 area, working with pupils aged 4–16 who have a wide range of additional needs.
About the RoleAs an SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant
, you’ll play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Working closely with teachers and therapists, you’ll support children with autism, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs.
- Supporting pupils individually and in small groups during lessons and activities
- Helping children build confidence, communication, and independence skills
- Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation
- Contributing to personalised education and behaviour plans
- Encouraging inclusion and positive engagement across school life
This position is particularly well‑suited to graduates with a Psychology or related degree
, especially those considering a career in:
- Educational Psychology
- SEN Teaching
- Child Therapy or Social Care
However, the role is open to graduates from all disciplines who are passionate about working with children and eager to develop SEN experience.
