WRAP-AROUND CARE MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
Campbell College was founded in 1894 and is a non‑denominational Voluntary ‘B’ Grammar School for dayboys and boarders. Our campus is unrivalled in Northern Ireland: with heritage buildings and almost 100 acres of grounds enabling us to have all facilities on one site and providing a rich and diverse education to our students, within a secure environment.
There are approximately 950 pupils aged 11-18 in the Middle and Senior Schools – 150 of whom are boarders – with a further 200 in the Junior (Primary) School.

Information about the AppointmentWe are looking for a highly motivated colleague, who enjoys working with young people in a fun environment. Managing a team of people providing Wraparound Care for children from Kindergarten to P7. This is a term‑time appointment (c45 weeks per annum, including paid holidays). Hours of work – 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 1 pm to 6 pm. NJC Scale Pt23 to Pt26: £17.29 - £18.72 per hour.
NILGOSC pension scheme, to which College contributes 19 %.
The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the Wraparound Care (Pre‑ and After School) provision, including organising activities, admin (including rotas of staff), safeguarding etc.
- To ensure the safety of both children and staff in a secure environment in line with College’s policies and procedures, including risk assessments etc.
- Liaise with the College’s Safeguarding Leads to ensure the highest level of pastoral care for children.
- Scheduling of age‑appropriate activities, promoting learning and development.
- Staff management – rota planning, planning for Breakfast Club & After‑School.
- Professional Development – attend and complete any safeguarding and any other relevant training and identify and facilitate training and information for others as appropriate.
- Recording and reporting attendance etc to the College Finance Department on a weekly basis.
- Liaison with the Catering Manager.
- Liaise with external providers where applicable.
- Please note; actual attendance at Breakfast Club is not required.
- Qualification at QCF Level 5 Diploma; or a QCF Level 5 Diploma Child Care, Learning and Development; or a relevant occupational qualification in early years’ education, social work, nursing, teaching or health visiting.
- Strong planning and organisation skills.
- Highly self‑motivated, able to energise and motivate self and others.
- Ability to prioritise own workload and work flexibly, and at times under pressure.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and delegate where appropriate.
- Encourage high standards of effort, care and presentation.
- Build excellent relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
- Communicate with parents regarding their children’s progress and any concerns.
- A friendly and approachable attitude, with a can‑do mind‑set.
- Two years’ experience working in a play, education, or day care setting for primary age children.
- Paediatric first‑aid trained and willing to undertake further training as necessary.
- Experience working in a school environment, or experience of Wraparound Care provisions.
The appointment is subject to satisfactory references and Access NI security clearance to work in a pre‑school and school environment.
