SEND Teaching Assistant

Overview

SEND Teaching Assistant - Full-time, long-term temporary role starting as soon as possible.

• Provide targeted support for pupils with SEMH needs
• Work confidently with male students and build positive working relationships
• Use strong behaviour management strategies to maintain a calm learning environment
• Support learning activities and help reinforce key lesson content
• Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff
• Assist with personalised learning plans and emotional regulation strategies
• Promote positive engagement, resilience, and routine
• Uphold safeguarding standards and prioritise pupil welfare

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs
• Confident working with male students
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
• Patient, calm, and resilient in challenging situations
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Adaptable and proactive approach to supporting individual needs
