Position Overview

We are seeking exceptional Early Years Practitioner's to join our dedicated team in delivering outstanding early years provision, as defined by the Ofsted inspection framework. The successful candidate will demonstrate a thorough understanding of the EYFS framework and contribute to maintaining our high‑quality provision across all areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality of Education (Intent, Implementation, Impact)
    • Design and implement ambitious learning experiences aligned with the EYFS seven areas of learning
    • Deliver the curriculum in a sequenced way that builds on children's prior knowledge
    • Support children to develop their cultural capital through rich and varied experiences
    • Maintain detailed observations and assessments using Birth to 5 Matters guidance
    • Identify and support children with additional needs, working with the SENCO as required
  • Behaviour and Attitudes
    • Foster positive learning behaviours and self‑regulation skills
    • Support children to become resilient, confident, and independent learners
    • Implement consistent behaviour management strategies aligned with the settings policies
    • Promote British Values through everyday practice
  • Personal Development
    • Support children's physical and emotional well‑being
    • Promote healthy eating and physical activity
    • Help children understand how to keep themselves safe and healthy
    • Foster inclusive practices that celebrate diversity and difference
  • Leadership and Management
    • Contribute to self‑evaluation processes
    • Participate in professional development opportunities
    • Mentor less experienced staff when required
    • Maintain accurate documentation for compliance purposes
  • Essential Qualifications and Knowledge
    • Level 2/3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent
    • Thorough understanding of:
      • EYFS statutory framework
      • Birth to 5 Matters guidance
      • Ofsted Education Inspection Framework
      • Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements
    • Current DBS check (ideally)
    • Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
    • Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (or willingness to obtain)
    Required Skills and Competencies
    • Ability to deliver exceptional teaching and learning experiences
    • Strong observation and assessment skills
    • Excellence in supporting children's communication and language development
    • Knowledge of child development theory and practice
    • Understanding of effective parent partnership approaches
    • Proficiency in digital learning documentation systems
