Job Title
Teacher – Primary
Reports ToPrincipal
Professional Duties- Exercise of general professional duties
- Planning and preparing courses and lessons
- Teaching, including setting and marking work
- Assessing, recording and reporting on pupil development, progress and attainment
- Promoting general progress and well‑being of pupils
- Providing advice and guidance on education and social matters
- Communicating with parents and external bodies
- Participating in meetings and arrangements for curriculum and pastoral functions
- Participating in staff development schemes and performance reviews
- Maintaining good order and discipline, safeguarding health and safety
- Participating in the preparation and assessment for public examinations
- Contributing to the selection and professional development of other teachers
- Administrative and organisational tasks related to curriculum management
- Managing staff cover as required
- Promoting good relations, equality and pay equity in accordance with legislation
- Hold a recognised teaching qualification for teaching in grant‑aided schools in Northern Ireland
- Minimum of one year demonstrable experience teaching Primary 6 and/or 7 (Key Stage 2)
- Experience in monitoring pupil progress, performance, target setting and intervention
- Experience teaching children with Special Educational Needs, using appropriate interventions
- Registered with the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland before taking up the post
- Knowledge of Northern Ireland Curriculum, Safeguarding, SEND Code of Practice, teaching strategies, IT systems and assessment methods
- Effective teaching and classroom management skills; ability to inspire and challenge pupils
- Ability to provide a supportive, inclusive environment; use initiative, solve problems, work collaboratively and motivate self and others
- Evidence of how your experience aligns with the School’s Values/ethos
- Experience coordinating a whole‑school learning area (e.g., Mathematics, Physical Education, etc.)
- Minimum two years of experience teaching P6 and/or 7 at Key Stage 2
- Experience leading or facilitating school residential trips, productions, extracurricular programmes or School Council
- Experience promoting the school through the website or social media channels
The Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (Northern Ireland) Order 2007 defines regulated activity. An Enhanced Disclosure of Criminal Background may be required and will be expected to be paid by the applicant.
