Youth Worker

What You Will Do
  • Build trusted relationships that keep young people engaged

What You Will Bring

Essential

  • Experience supporting young people facing barriers
  • Ability to engage, motivate and challenge appropriately
  • Strong organisation and recordkeeping
  • APGCE, CIT, or Level 3/4 youth work qualification that includes planning, delivering and evaluating learning with young people
  • OR a willingness to start the CIT within 2 years of joining if Youth Worker qualification already in place.
  • Experience delivering youth programmes or qualifications in personal development or employability
  • Confidence working with young people who face multiple barriers to engagement

Trainable

  • Funded programme and qualification frameworks
  • Additional teaching or training qualifications
A Day in the Role

You may start with a group session, followed by onetoone reviews. You will update plans, liaise with colleagues and check in with a young person who has missed sessions. Some days move smoothly. Others require patience and calm problem solving.
