Eligibility:
This posting is for pre‑identified or referred volunteers only. Applicants must indicate who referred them to be considered for the Athletic Volunteer Coach position. A resume is also required to complete the application process.
All required documentation must be submitted with the application. Applicants must complete the clearance actions listed below.
Clearance Requirements- Act 151 Childline
- Act 34 Pennsylvania State Police
- Act 114 FBI Fingerprinting
- TB Test Results (must be dated within 3 months of submission)
- Valid Government‑issued (legible copy)
A volunteer is defined as an adult who applies for or holds an unpaid position with the school district, taking direct contact with children and responsible for their welfare. Volunteers assist in support of district staff without replacing or assuming staff responsibilities or authority.
- Volunteers shall not administer or enforce discipline upon students.
- Except in emergencies, volunteers shall not provide first aid or medical assistance to students.
- Except where specifically authorized by the Board on a case‑by‑case basis, volunteers shall not operate motor vehicles owned by or under the control of the district; they cannot transport students other than their own child/children.
- Each volunteer must keep strictly confidential all information learned about students and sign the district confidentiality statement.
- Volunteers are required to submit to Raptor upon entering school buildings.
Volunteers are also required to act as mandatory reporters under district policy. They must report suspected child abuse if they have reasonable cause to suspect a child is a victim, in accordance with Policy No 806.
Certifications Required For Volunteer- Report of criminal history from Pennsylvania State Police or statement that the central repository contains no such information.
- Certification from the Department of Human Services indicating whether the person is named in the statewide database for child abuse investigation.
- Report of federal criminal history.
- Results of tuberculosis examination (Tine test).
The district accommodates volunteers with disabilities and/or special needs. Volunteers needing accommodations should contact the relevant building principal.
Disqualification and TerminationHolding the position of a volunteer is a privilege conferred by the Board each school year. The district reserves the right to suspend or terminate the privilege to serve at any time, with or without cause.
