Randstad Student Support are recruiting for Specialist Mentors to work with autistic students studying at Universities and/or Colleges in BELFAST
.

The role is set to begin and is a hybrid role. All successful candidates must be able to travel to the local University or college and offer both in person and online sessions flexibly to meet student preferences.

As a Specialist Mentor, you will be a trusted advisor for students. You will be required to assist students throughout the full academic year and support them to reflect on their study experiences while introducing strategies to overcome certain barriers.

  • Break down tasks to meet deadlines
  • Manage anxiety, stress or low mood
  • Prepare for new experiences
  • Build on confidence and strengths to become an independent learner
Requirements

As this is a specialist role, candidates must have the correct qualifications and training. All students you will be supporting are funded by the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) meaning all candidates must adhere to the qualification framework set out by the DfE.

Candidates must be qualified to undergraduate degree level (level 6 as minimum) and have taken extensive training in adult autism.

  • 6 National Autistic Society Modules (non medical helper package)
  • The Optimum Training Course:
    Autism and ADHD in Higher

    Education:

    Recognising and addressing the barriers through Non‑Medical Helper (NMH) Mentoring and Study Skills Strategies.
