The CDT is a collaborative initiative involving multiple UK universities and industry partners, providing an interdisciplinary research environment that combines academic rigor with real-world application. The programme includes structured training, collaborative projects, and industry placements, enabling candidates to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

Research areas span creative computing, digital media, artificial intelligence in the creative industries, immersive technologies, design innovation, and data-driven creative practice. Candidates will undertake original research projects while participating in cohort-based learning, professional development, and engagement with industry stakeholders.

The programme typically begins with an initial training phase followed by a focused research period. Students benefit from supervision by leading academics and professionals, as well as access to state-of-the-art facilities and networks across partner institutions.
