The Sensory Needs Service are seeking a motivated and skilled Technical Resource Officer to join our specialist Vision Impairment Support Team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people with vision impairments by ensuring they have access to the specialist technology, equipment, and adapted resources they need to thrive.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide technical expertise, manage specialist equipment and assistive technology, produce accessible learning materials, and support educational settings to maximise the effective use of resources.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping children and young people develop independence, participate fully in education, and achieve their potential.
We are looking for candidates who have:- RQF Level 2 in English and Mathematics
- Grade 2 Braille qualification or a willingness and ability to achieve this within an agreed period following appointment
- Strong IT skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with experience working with technology and technical equipment, ideally within education
- Experience of supporting children and young people with a visual impairment and an understanding of their educational and accessibility needs
- Experience in managing multiple priorities and work independently as well as part of a team

Full-time salary for this role is pro rata to approximately 28,350 per annum for term-time only working.
