An exciting opportunity has become available for a SEND Learning Assistant to join a popular and thriving school community this September. The school proudly serves a vibrant, diverse, and multi-ethnic community and is committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and proactive individual who is eager to develop their knowledge and experience of supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The RoleAs a SEND Learning Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with their learning, lunchtime routines, and playtimes.
- Work alongside the class teacher to prepare engaging, safe, and inclusive learning activities.
- Help create a positive, nurturing environment where pupils can develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills.
- Accompany pupils during therapy sessions and enable them to participate fully in lessons within mainstream classrooms.
- Encourage pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
- Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child.
- Has previous experience working within a UK educational setting.
- Has a positive attitude and enjoys working in a busy, rewarding environment.
- Works well as part of a team and values supporting colleagues.
- Communicates confidently and professionally with staff, pupils, and parents.
- Is passionate about supporting children with a range of special educational needs.
- Is patient, kind, caring, and always puts children at the centre of everything they do.
- Holds a Child Only DBS registered on the Update Service, or is willing to apply for one.
Previous SEND experience is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from candidates who are enthusiastic, willing to learn, and committed to making a positive difference.
Pay: Competitive and dependent on qualifications, experience, and skills.
