SEN Teaching Assistant - SEMH School Academics are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our fantastic SEMH schools in Canterbury from September. This is a full-time opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs . You will play a key role in helping pupils engage with their learning, manage their behaviour and build positive relationships within a supportive school environment.

The role:

Providing classroom support to pupils with SEMH needs Working on a 1:1 basis and in small groups where required Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils Helping to create a safe, structured and engaging learning environment Working closely with teachers and other professionals to support individual pupil needs The ideal candidate:
Has experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, SEN or challenging behaviour Is resilient, patient and able to remain calm in challenging situations Has strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills Is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of young people Is available to work 5 days per week from September Holds an active DBS on the Update Service , or is willing to obtain one through Academics This role would be ideal for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, SEMH Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Mentor or Youth Worker looking for their next opportunity.
