Central Wyoming College is seeking a next President who can build on the institution’s stable leadership, strong communication, student-centered culture, and deep community engagement. The ideal leader will take time to understand CWC’s culture, its diverse student population, and the communities it serves while continuing to involve faculty and staff in collaborative decision-making. Key priorities include strengthening academic and community programs, supporting adult and non-traditional learners, sustaining successful grant-funded initiatives, and leading with adaptability, integrity, humility, emotional intelligence, and follow-through.

The next President must also provide inclusive operational leadership, use data effectively, and bring innovation-particularly around emerging tools such as artificial intelligence-while preserving the college’s existing strengths. Because CWC serves rural, remote, economically diverse communities, including the largest American Indian population in Wyoming and a sizable Hispanic population, the President must demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect for tribal sovereignty while developing proactive solutions for community needs.

Externally, the leader should be a strong advocate and storyteller who can strengthen relationships with legislators, K-12 partners, tribal communities, workforce partners, higher education institutions, and statewide stakeholders to secure resources and expand CWC’s impact.
