Practical Skills Supervisor in Barbering

Salary: £20.66 - £22.05 per hour inclusive of holiday pay, dependent on qualifications and experience

Under the general guidance and direction of lecturing staff the Practical Skills Supervisor will deliver practical sessions to groups of learners within a practical workshop or commercial salon environment, and will provide support to lecturers by tracking and assessing learner progress, providing guidance and support where required.

Salary: £20.66 - £22.05 per hour inclusive of holiday pay, dependent on qualifications and experience

Under the general guidance and direction of lecturing staff the Practical Skills Supervisor will deliver practical sessions to groups of learners within a practical workshop or commercial salon environment, and will provide support to lecturers by tracking and assessing learner progress, providing guidance and support where required.

Typically, the Practical Skills Supervisor will be timetabled each academic year for direct contact with learners and with a minimum of 102(3 x 34) hours per annum of class supervision in a practical workshop setting (Pro-Rata for part time, hourly paid staff)

Holiday Entitlement
  • 28 days leave per annum, rising to 32 days after 5 full holiday years' continuous service (01 September to 31 August).
  • All normally observed public holidays, determined annually.
  • Up to 5 days efficiency closure days per annum, determined annually.
  • Part Time contracts will receive a pro rata entitlement to the above.
  • Term Time contracts will receive a pro rata entitlement to the above paid as part of annual salary.

34 weeks per year (during the college term)
