Secondary Tutor Support Secondary-Aged Learners Through Personalised Education
We're looking for Secondary Tutors to provide tailored 1:1 support to children and young people across West Sussex
.
Working on behalf of Local Authorities
, you'll support secondary-aged learners who require alternative educational provision. Many of the students we work with have experienced barriers to learning and benefit from personalised support that helps increase confidence, improve engagement, and achieve positive educational outcomes.
We're particularly keen to hear from tutors based in or around:
- Crawley
- Worthing
- Horsham
- Chichester
- Bognor Regis
- Littlehampton
Whether your expertise is in core subjects, humanities, sciences, languages, or vocational areas, we'd love to hear from you.
- Location: West Sussex
- Key Stage: Secondary (KS3 & KS4)
- Start Date: September
- Hours: Flexible
- Pay Rate: 25- 30 per hour
- Type: 1:1 Tuition
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an educational setting
, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles - Experience supporting secondary-aged learners
- Strong subject knowledge in one or more curriculum areas
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions
- Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within West Sussex
You'll work with young people who may have:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- ADHD
- Anxiety and school avoidance
- EHCPs and additional educational needs
