Llangiwg Primary School is a small, welcoming community school in the heart of Pontardawe. Llangiwg Primary School is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, caring and committed Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This role will involve supporting teaching and learning across the school, from Nursery through to Year 6. We are looking for an adaptable, experienced practitioner who can work effectively with pupils of all ages and abilities, contributing positively to both classroom learning and wider school life.

About the Role
  • Support teaching and learning across all age ranges from Nursery to Year 6
  • Work alongside class teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning experiences
  • Provide support to individual pupils and small groups, including those with additional learning needs
  • Contribute to creating a positive, nurturing and stimulating learning environment
  • Promote pupils' independence, wellbeing, confidence and social development
  • Support the implementation of behaviour and learning strategies as directed by teaching staff
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents/carers and external agencies where appropriate
  • Assist with the preparation of learning resources and classroom activities
The Successful Candidate Will:
  • Hold a recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Have substantial experience of working with primary-aged children across a range of age groups
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt quickly and effectively to different classes, year groups and pupil needs
  • Have experience supporting pupils with a range of learning needs, including Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
  • Be patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
  • Demonstrate flexibility, resilience and a proactive approach to supporting learning
  • Be an excellent team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
