Do you love supporting children to learn? We have an amazing opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join our school. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain experience of the breadth of engagement in young people’s lives and receive comprehensive training and support.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Establish productive relationships with pupils, responding to the needs of each individual child, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
- To have challenging expectations that encourages the child being supported on a one to one basis to develop the act independently and build self-esteem
- Provide feedback in relation to progress and achievement
- Encourage children to play and interact with one another
- Support children consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- a passion for seeing pupils learn and the determination to aim for positive outcomes
- an intuitive understanding how to provide pastoral support
- a willingness to further develop their own professional skills
- a commitment to pupil learning in and outside of the classroom
- experience of teaching phonics/ early reading is desirable
Actual Salary £ 18,915 - £19,216 per annum (Grade 5, SCP 5-6) (Pay award pending)
This job is Term Time Only for 32.5 hours per week and 38 weeks per year.
The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and includes appropriate paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements.
The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.
You will be expected to promote the ethos and vision of the school, participate in training and development, and activities that contribute to the management of performance. You will also be asked to assist with the management of pupils outside the classroom e.g. lunch times and outside the school e.g. school trips as directed by the class teacher and member of the school’s management, and attend meetings as required.
