The Headteacher & Governing Board seek to appoint, as soon as possible, a highly skilled and experienced teaching assistant to work within a flexible role across the school. This will primarily include working within our Enhanced Resource Unit, The Orchard, but will also include some time working within the main school.

The Orchard offers a nurturing curriculum for pupils with special educational needs and individual learning pathway who benefit from a more holistic, pastoral curriculum. More information regarding our provision is available by contacting the school.

The role may also include the following:

  • Supporting individuals or groups of children with various SEND in the mainstream classrooms.
  • Supporting children who are accessing The Orchard as they are reintegrated back into their mainstream classrooms.
  • Work over the lunchtime period supporting positive play for our more vulnerable pupils.
  • Deliver appropriate interventions for children with a variety of abilities and needs.

The successful candidate will need to be extremely flexible and willing to work in any year group and role around the school if required.

We require an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a passion for supporting pupils with their education and social skills, able to work using their initiative and as part of a team to support our pupils’s diverse range of needs.

You should have excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to young people, their welfare, education and personal development. You will act as a role model to our pupils.

Hornsea Community Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Hours – 31.25 per week (8.45am – 3.30pm with a 30 minute lunch break). Term-time only on a fixed term basis until 31/8/27 in the first instance.
