SEND Teaching & Learning Assistant SEPTA

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant who are able to support the learning of children with SEND.

The successful candidates will be excellent classroom practitioners with experience of working with children with a range of needs and who are dedicated to enabling children to achieve their personal best.

They will:

Work with individual children, including children with SEND and EHCPs.

Be able to work as part of a team

Prepare learning materials and adapt teaching support according to childrenʼs needs

Look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare-including first aid duties

Be creative and innovative

Have high expectations of achievement and behaviour

Be committed to promoting and upholding the school values and ethos

Promote and support the inclusion of all pupils, including those with specific needs.

Be motivated and passionate to achieve the very best for the children in our care and make a genuine difference

Use initiative to assess and evaluate pupils' needs

Lead intervention groups

We are looking for someone with a flexible, positive, outgoing, caring and nurturing approach. The SEND TA role is advertised as 32.50 hours per week. Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.

At least GCSE English and Maths at least Grade 4 (previously grade
4) essential

Relevant Training over last two years desirable

Experience planning and delivering learning activities essential

Experience working in a school environment or other educational setting essential

Experience working with children / young people with special educational needs (SEN) essential

Has experience of leading playground activities.

Skills and expertise in understanding the needs of all pupils essential

Good literacy and numeracy skills essential

Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils and adults essential

Ability to work as part of a team and to be flexible in their approach to daily routines essential
