Job DescriptionAbout the role As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning and feel confident and included within the classroom. Depending on the school and individual pupil, responsibilities may include:
Providing 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with SEND. Supporting children with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs and other learning difficulties. Helping pupils engage with lessons and adapt activities where appropriate.
Working alongside class teachers and the wider SEND team to support individual learning needs. Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and social development. Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions, break times and other activities where required. Building positive and trusting relationships with children while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Following individual support plans and school policies.
