Position: Senior/Senior Lead Analyst - Future Power Markets

Description:
We are hiring for our client, a key player in Northern Ireland's energy sector. This Data Analyst
role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the transition towards a cleaner, low-carbon energy future. The role sits within a multidisciplinary team of engineers, economists, and analysts, focusing on shaping the future of power markets in Northern Ireland and across Europe.

With a target of 80% renewable electricity by 2030 and net carbon neutrality by 2050, this position offers the chance to influence strategic decisions and provide critical analytical insights that support the transformation of the energy system.

  • The Role:

    • Develop and maintain data models to forecast power market trends and system outcomes.
    • Conduct research and provide scenario analysis to support decision-making in energy market design and regulatory frameworks.
    • Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Present complex technical information in a concise and accessible manner.
    • Collaborate across teams and external stakeholders to achieve program goals.

    The Person:

    • Relevant third-level qualification (data science, economics, engineering, or related field).
    • 5+ years’ experience in data analysis within the energy sector or a similarly complex environment.
    • Strong proficiency in Python, R, and Excel for managing large datasets.
    • Proven ability to communicate technical findings to a wide range of stakeholders.
    • Experience in leading or mentoring teams is a plus, especially for Senior-level candidates.
