Mechanical Design Engineer Salary/Grade: £40,606 - £47,500 per annum (depending on experience) Location :
Larne Benefits:
Up to 10% bonus 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Contributory pension scheme - Caterpillar will double the employee's contribution up to 6% Contributory share scheme - Caterpillar will match 50% of the employee's contribution. The opportunity We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Global Solutions Engineering Group at Caterpillar (N.I.) situated s is an excellent opportunity to play a key role within the Caterpillar Electric Power engineering team.
The Global Solutions Engineering Group is responsible for the development of design to order customer specific electric power products. This includes new product development, technical support for operations, processing of engineering changes, investigation & resolution of product quality issues. This role provides a great opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop their abilities within an experienced team working on projects for various export markets.
As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will primarily carry out the concept and design of mechanical engineering projects through to production, and ensure the electric power products provide superior performance, best cost, durability, quality, and serviceability for our customers. For the right candidate, this role will include opportunities for you to be the lead engineer on smaller electric power projects.
What you will do:
Provide designs of selected projects backed up by 3D models, technical drawings, instructions and B.O.M.'s to enable the manufacture and assembly of specialist genset applications. Provide technical and general guidance to associate engineers as required. Investigating & resolving issues affecting production of Solutions builds. Liaison with other Departments such as marketing, purchasing, validation & quality on the resolution of design specification queries & production issues.
Specification and requisition of production materials for manufacture and finished components for assembly. The recording and control of documentation issued for manufacture. What you have:
