Intermediate Electrical Engineer

An established MEP consultancy based in Holywood, County Down is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join their growing team. With a strong pipeline of high-quality projects across the residential, commercial, healthcare, and education sectors, this is an excellent opportunity for an electrical engineer whos ready to take on more responsibility and progress toward a senior position.

Youll be part of a tight-knit, experienced team known for delivering technically sound, sustainable, and client-focused solutions throughout Northern Ireland and beyond.

You will contribute to the design and delivery of electrical building services systems on a range of projects, working closely with senior engineers, mechanical teams, and external consultants. This role offers excellent exposure to the full project lifecycle, making it ideal for someone eager to gain hands-on experience and take the next step in their career.

• Assist in the design and specification of electrical systems, including lighting, power, fire alarm, and data infrastructure
• Produce detailed calculations, reports, schematics, and schedules
• Collaborate with mechanical and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate design solutions
• Attend design team meetings and undertake occasional site inspections
• Support and review the work of junior team members where applicable
• Communicate with clients and project stakeholders to help ensure expectations are met

• Degree qualified in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
• 2-5 years' experience in an electrical building services design role (preferably within a consultancy)
• Proficient in electrical design software such as Amtech, Dialux, and Revit
• Solid understanding of UK Building Regulations and relevant design standards (e.g. BS7671, CIBSE)
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, solution-driven attitude
