The Engineering Reliability Technician is responsible for maintaining, improving, and developing the bakery’s manufacturing equipment and site services to ensure maximum operational efficiency, safety, and reliability. This is a day shift role Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm. This role combines hands-on electrical engineering support with leadership of continuous improvement (CI), preventative maintenance strategies, and engineering projects across a high-volume food production environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in reducing downtime, improving asset reliability, driving engineering standards, and supporting operational performance. They will facilitate knowledge transfer to both maintenance and operations staff by training and coaching.
- Ensure all engineering activities are carried out in accordance with Legal & Company Standards.
- Compile Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Statutory checks, audits of toolboxes, priority risk areas and jobs
- Manage Contractors
- Carry out Priority Risk Audits
- Participate and lead improvement activities with teams
- Liaise with Shift teams to understand recent failure modes on plant.
- Absence cover for managers
- Recognised Engineering apprenticeship - Level 3 Electrical
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a skilled engineer
- 18th IET Wiring Regulations
- A dual Electrical/Mechanical apprenticeship would be desirable
- Problem solving and fault diagnosis
- Experience with PLCs
