F/T (40 hours per week) based at Sywell Aerodrome, Northamptonshire. This entry‑level, hybrid internship requires pre‑planned visits to our Sywell base site.
The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For- Supporting production activities to deliver commercial projects.
- Assisting in the creation of flight plans to support airborne data capture.
- Assisting in the processing of raw data into analysis‑ready data (including navigation data, airborne photography, hyperspectral data).
- Assisting in the exploitation of remotely sensed (processed) data into geospatial products.
- Contributing to quality assurance of project outputs.
- Currently studying, recently completed studies, or equivalent experience in Remote Sensing, Earth Observation, Geomatics, Geospatial Science, GIS, Cartography.
- Background in other sciences (Biology, Ecology, Conservation, Geography, Geology, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics) with awareness of Remote Sensing fundamentals and some experience working with geospatial data.
- Ability to work to deadlines (time management).
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
- Team‑oriented, positive attitude, works well independently and with others to achieve departmental goals.
- Work in an organized, logical way and follow prescribed processes.
- Strong planning and organisation skills, proven ability to multi‑task.

- Receptive to learning, adapting, and applying solutions using new technology and techniques.
- Enthusiasm for environmental applications and aerial survey.
- Experience using Remote Sensing or GIS software for data processing and/or analysis (ENVI, ERDAS Imagine, ArcGIS, QGIS, Correlator3D, Pix4D, eCognition).
- Proficiency with standard geospatial vector/raster formats.
- Awareness of the importance of Coordinate Reference Systems.
- Basic programming experience (Python, R or IDL).
Hourly rate of £13.45, 25 days holiday per year from day one plus bank holidays, up to 6% matched pension scheme, group life insurance, health and wellbeing benefits including private health care and an employee assistance programme, and more.
