Overview
Operations is at the heart of everything Amazon does, and reliability is one of the ways we optimise our processes. The Amazon Reliability Maintenance and Engineering team keeps all our equipment in excellent working order, from printers to fully automated sortation systems. As a Refrigeration Reliability Manager, you’ll make sure that our expanding fleet of refrigeration systems are working at their best so that our customers get their orders on time.
You will serve as the technical expert for commercial refrigeration systems across Amazon's expanding European market, drive standardisation, reliability improvements, and technical excellence across multiple facilities, and ensure optimal performance and compliance with food safety standards. You will be instrumental in leading Amazon RME towards world‑class maintenance in refrigeration operations.
- Create, innovate and drive projects to deliver reliability, ergonomic, cost and resource‑use benefits at European‑wide scale
- Increase standardisation within the network of refrigeration systems, and in future delivery station design
- Optimise existing equipment/processes and support expansion of new equipment/process from concept to deployment
- Author and chair reports/ business case reviews to document project status and changes with senior leadership
- Communicate reliability programme status & outputs to senior leaders periodically
- Create strategy for long‑term roadmap
- Implement standards validated by the EU Engineering team and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and equipment availability for our internal customers, with a key focus on predictive & preventative maintenance programmes
Your day will be varied. Some days will be at a delivery station learning from our customers in RME, some will be working on design standards for the next generations of refrigeration systems, some will be working on a new MHE concept/design to improve Amazon reliability, and others will be managing large‑scale deployment projects to our delivery stations. You will also be working with partners from Operations, Process Improvement, Health and Safety, Ergonomics, Finance, Procurement, Central & Field Reliability and external vendors to design and deploy new equipment and processes in refrigeration systems.
This will require management of a large number of diverse stakeholders, strong autonomy and the ability to work in ambiguity. You will also lead regular communication with executors, project sponsors and senior leaders, requiring detail‑oriented, technical and business reporting.
Amazon Logistics aims to build a world‑class last‑mile operation and exceed the expectations of our customers by ensuring that their orders, no matter how large or small, are delivered as quickly, accurately and cost‑effectively as possible. Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team keeps our equipment performing at its best. We are a technically minded team of excellent team players guided by experienced leaders, working together to improve, troubleshoot and standardise equipment across our network of delivery stations.
Everything we do focuses on reducing downtime in Amazon’s critical operations sites, so customers get their orders on time. The location of this role can be flexible to any AMZL delivery station or corporate office within the EU.
