Opportunity – Civil EngineerJoin our Highways team in Belfast, working on Roads, Public Transport and Greenways programmes across Ireland and the UK.
Responsibilities- Manage design packages from concept to construction stage for major highway, bus infrastructure and greenway projects.
- Apply UK and Irish design standards (DMRB, Cycle by Design, DMURS, LTN 1/24, NTA Cycle Design Manual) to deliver safe, people‑focused transport solutions.
- Prepare high‑quality deliverables and services to clients, keeping quality, time and budget constraints.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and provide technical guidance on statutory approvals (Northern Ireland Roads Order, Republic of Ireland Planning Permission, Environmental Impact Assessment).
- Mentor apprentices and contribute to the team culture of growth and continuous learning.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in civil engineering, highways, public transport or greenways with knowledge of relevant UK/Irish design standards.
- Understanding of contract documentation for major transport projects (NEC, Public Works Contract, MCHW/MCRW specifications).
- Knowledge of statutory planning approvals in the UK and/or Ireland.
- Demonstrated progress toward chartership and commitment to professional development.
- Ability to work within teams of varying sizes and deliver high‑quality work packages.
- Robust portfolio of Roads, Public Transport and Greenway projects at various stages of delivery.
