Graduate Consultant; Acoustics

SALARY: Competitive and based on experience and qualifications.

LOCATION: Newcastle upon Tyne

We’re searching for a Graduate Consultant to join our Environment & Engineering Team. Applicants should come from an academic background in either acoustics, physics, math or engineering to assist our acoustics consultants with noise propagation modelling and data analysis.

The Environmental & Engineering team assists developers in taking energy projects from conceptual ideas to buildable assets.

• Data analysis of measured data
• Noise prediction and propagation modelling
• Input to technical noise assessment reports
• Modelling input and reporting for other technical studies, such as shadow flicker assessments

Essential requirements include:

• An acoustics, physics, maths or engineering related degree
• Strong general numeric and mathematical skills
• Full driving licence
• Proactive team player
• Excellent organisational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proactive and solution oriented with strong attention to detail
• Interest in energy and the environment
• An ability to understand and explain abstract concepts in a clear way to technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience of data management and analysis
• Coding skills, especially Python
• Affiliation with the Institute of Acoustics
