Mechanical Lead Technician

Astute's Power Team are recruiting a Lead Mechanical Technician for an Energy from Waste plant located in Belfast. This new role within the maintenance department is focusing on maximising plant availability & reliability by carrying out a variety of engineering tasks on mechanical assets including conveyors, belts, pumps, valves, fans etc. This includes project engineering, supervisory duties and workload planning / scheduling.

Responsibilities and duties:

As the Mechanical Lead, you will be responsible for:
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Safe Systems of Work, prioritising the safety of people, plant and the environment. Develop, review and optimise preventative maintenance plans within Maximo to maximise plant reliability and minimise downtime. Plan maintenance work by confirming permits, RAMS, parts and tooling are in place before execution. Work with the Mechanical Engineer to resolve technical issues and improve maintenance strategies.

Manage mechanical projects from planning through to completion, delivering on time and within budget. Lead and develop the mechanical maintenance team, driving safe working, high performance and continuous improvement. Ensure effective support of the on-call rota and out-of-hours maintenance activities. Manage planned, reactive and corrective mechanical maintenance to maximise plant availability. Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:
Apprentice qualified with a relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification Minimum Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline It would be advantageous to have an IOSH Personal skills The Mechanical Lead role would suit someone with:
