Civil / Environmental Engineer (Flooding / Drainage) | Belfast Vickerstock are pleased to be partnering with a globally recognised multidisciplinary consultancy delivering innovative solutions across the built environment, infrastructure and environmental sectors. As the business continues to deliver a strong pipeline of development and infrastructure projects, they are seeking a Flood Risk / Drainage Engineer to join their Belfast team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with a background in drainage design, flood risk assessment or sustainable water management to join an established technical team, working on a diverse range of projects across residential, industrial, retail, commercial and mixed-use developments.

Your new role as Flood Risk / Drainage Engineer Working within the flood and drainage team in Belfast, you will support the delivery of technical solutions for a wide range of development projects. You will be involved in both design delivery and technical reporting, working closely with clients, project teams and stakeholders.
You will be responsible for:
Producing drainage designs to support planning applications and construction projects across residential, industrial, retail and mixed-use developments
Preparing technical reports, assessments and supporting documentation for planning and regulatory submissions
Undertaking flood risk assessments and supporting the development of flood mitigation solutions
Developing sustainable drainage solutions (SuDS) and drainage strategies in line with project requirements
Preparing technical calculations, drawings and design information
Liaising with clients, local authorities, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams
Supporting projects from initial feasibility through to detailed design and construction stages
Contributing to the delivery of innovative and sustainable engineering solutions
What you will need to succeed as Flood Risk / Drainage Engineer To be considered for this opportunity, you should demonstrate:
Technical experience:
A degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geography, Hydrology or a related discipline
Experience delivering drainage design, flood risk assessments or related water management projects
Approximately 5 years' post-graduate experience preferred, although candidates with strong relevant experience will be considered
Experience preparing technical reports and supporting planning or construction submissions
Good understanding of drainage principles, flood risk management and sustainable development solutions
Experience with relevant design software packages would be advantageous
Additional requirements:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage technical outputs and meet project deadlinesA collaborative approach with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teamsA proactive attitude with an interest in developing technical expertise
