You will help create and maintain the Council’s digital Highway Maintainable at Public Expense records and support the ongoing development of our gold-standard Local Street Gazetteer. These records are central to highway management, asset planning, legal processes, development control and public service delivery.

  • Collaborate with a wide range of professional disciplines including Highway Development Control, Highway Maintenance, Legal Services, Estates, Digital Services and external partners.

This role would suit someone who enjoys solving problems, working with spatial data, interpreting evidence and making a practical contribution to public services.

Our team manages important highway datasets that support maintenance, transportation planning, asset management, emergency response, legal processes and future investment decisions across the county borough.

We are also delivering projects to improve digital highway extent mapping and the Local Street Gazetteer, creating a smarter, more efficient and data-driven highway service.

We aim to provide a supportive, inclusive and collaborative environment where people are encouraged to develop, innovate and take ownership of their work.

By joining our team, you will benefit from:

  • A genuinely varied and intellectually stimulating role.
  • Opportunities to develop specialist expertise in GIS, highway law, spatial analysis and asset information management.
  • The chance to influence significant infrastructure and digital transformation projects.
  • Supportive management and experienced colleagues who value teamwork, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Flexible and hybrid working opportunities where applicable.
  • Excellent Local Government Pension Scheme benefits.
  • Generous annual leave entitlement and employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • A modern waterfront office location at The Quays.
