As an M&E Supervisor, you'll play a vital role in leading mechanical and electrical installation activities on complex high-voltage projects, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team working on nationally significant infrastructure. You'll be at the heart of project delivery, coordinating site activities, supporting operational teams, and helping drive performance across critical power projects.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and coordinate mechanical and electrical installation activities across transmission and substation projects.
  • Supervise site teams and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
  • Review and implement RAMS, permits, and safe systems of work before activities commence.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and quality checks to maintain high standards of delivery.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, site briefings, and safety engagements to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Monitor site progress, productivity, and resource requirements, escalating issues where necessary.
  • Support commissioning, testing, and project handover activities.
  • Liaise with Site Managers, Engineers, and project stakeholders to ensure coordinated delivery across all work streams.
What You'll Bring
    • Proven experience supervising mechanical and electrical works within power, utilities, infrastructure, or industrial environments.
    • Strong understanding of M&E systems within HV or substation projects.
    • Good knowledge of permit-to-work systems, isolation procedures, and construction safety requirements.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and project documentation.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
    • Strong commitment to health, safety, quality, and compliance.
    • SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
    • CSCS or CCNSG card.
    • Full UK driving licence.
    • Experience working on National Grid, transmission, or distribution projects.
    • Bonus if you hold National Grid Person or Competent Person authorisations.
    • It would be great if you have experience with HV equipment, transformers, switch gear, or cable installation.
    • It would be great if you've been involved in commissioning, energisation, or project handover phases.
    • First Aid at Work, Temporary Works Supervisor, HSG
47, Lift Supervisor, or impressed voltage qualifications would be advantageous.
