Mechanical​/Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Swift Temps are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing operation in Middlewich. This is a genuinely hands-on engineering role, working across both mechanical and electrical maintenance to keep production running safely and efficiently. You'll be responsible for a mixture of planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown work and general engineering improvements across the site.

The role would suit someone from a manufacturing, heavy industrial, concrete, aggregates, quarrying or similar environment who is confident getting stuck in and working across a variety of plant and machinery.

Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across the site Diagnose and repair both mechanical and electrical faults Respond to breakdowns quickly and safely to minimise production downtime Carry out maintenance and repairs on motors, drives, control panels and associated equipment Work on hydraulic and mechanical systems Maintain conveyors, material handling equipment and other production machinery Support installation, modification and commissioning of new equipment Carry out fault finding and basic PLC diagnostics where required Identify recurring faults and recommend improvements to improve reliability Complete maintenance records and documentation accurately Work closely with the production team to keep the plant operating efficiently Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and housekeeping at all times What We're Looking For Recognised Engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent experience Level 3 Engineering qualification or equivalent Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience Previous experience within manufacturing, heavy industry or a similar production environment Confident electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills

Experience with motors, inverter drives, control panels and mechanical systems Good understanding of safe working practices Able to work independently and take ownership of engineering issues Reliable and comfortable working a 4-on / 4-off, 12-hour shift pattern
