Environmental Engineer, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
We have an extremely exciting opportunity to come and join our Infrastructure Services division. The division assists in delivering projects to build a more sustainable and long-lasting Infrastructure for the UK on behalf of clients across of a range of different sectors including electricity, gas, water, fibre optics, oil, and renewables.
We pride ourselves on understanding our clients’ specific requirements and industry developments, as well as maintaining and developing our professional team and continuing the development of our systems to assist in high quality service delivery. The role will be varied, including project managing multiple consenting activities from routing, through to construction and completion, and providing consultancy services associated with benchmarking, procedures and management systems.
You will be working amongst a growing team of currently twelve colleagues, who are working on a range of infrastructure delivery projects, supporting the UK’s Net Zero target through the connection of new low carbon energy generation, and reinforcing transmission and distribution networks.
Based in Newark, this is a permanent full-time position based on 37.5-hours (Monday – Friday). We are open to speaking to individuals from a broad range of surveying backgrounds & we also operate a hybrid working policy.

- Advising on and managing complex infrastructure projects from a local to national scale, with key clients across the industry including in electricity and water, working on Major Infrastructure Projects and Asset Management portfolios
- Providing land consultancy advice to clients for different work streams, such as maintenance of existing apparatus or installation of new equipment
- Advising clients on all aspects of their interactions with landowners and major stakeholders, providing professional support where required
- Involvement in land referencing, preparation and service of statutory notices, negotiation of compensation and acquisitions of rights to facilitate projects
- Working to support clients with their major connections customers to help drive customer driven major infrastructure projects and to maintain relationships.
- Liaising and communicating with landowners including site meetings and dealing with public enquiries
- The development and management of spreadsheets and reporting systems to provide the client with accurate key consenting data to assist project delivery
- Reporting directly to clients on project progression via teams or face to face meetings preparing regular updates and achieving consenting timescale milestones for project delivery
- Supporting the client in their instruction of other professional services such as environmental and ecological reports and offering reasoned advice concerning logic and strategy
- Supporting theclient’slegal team with all project related matters where required
- Working with the office Partner to build new client relationships and manage those with existing clients and to help diversify workstreamsincluding meetings and presence at client offices where required
- Supporting on wideradhocprojects across the business
- Supporting the training and mentoring of in-house graduates in the office to help them achieve their professional development goals
- MRICS or AssocRICS
- Willingness and commitment to undertake further training and development as required to support the role and the team, and to expand upon experience.
- Previous team leader or managerial experience would be advantageous
