AECOM is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Belfast office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recently Chartered Structural Engineer looking to build on their professional qualification, broaden their experience and take the next step in their this role, you will take increasing ownership of projects, develop your leadership skills, strengthen client relationships and expand your technical expertise. You will have a clear pathway for progression towards Principal Engineer, Associate and future technical or project leadership positions.
The Belfast Structures team delivers projects across Northern Ireland, the UK and internationally. As part of a global consultancy, you will work alongside leading professionals on technically challenging and diverse projects across sectors including healthcare, data centres, commercial and office developments, residential, education, industrial and manufacturing, infrastructure, hospitality and the public sector.

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will:
Lead the structural engineering delivery of projects, or significant elements of larger multidisciplinary projects, from concept and feasibility through detailed design, construction and completion.
Develop efficient, economical and robust structural solutions that meet client requirements, relevant standards, legislation and industry best practice.
Design structural schemes using reinforced concrete, steel, masonry and timber, as appropriate to the project.
Apply sound engineering judgement to solve complex technical challenges and develop practical, buildable solutions.
Prepare and review structural calculations, technical reports, specifications, drawings, schedules and other engineering deliverables.
Review work produced by engineers and technicians, ensuring technical accuracy, coordination and quality.
Take responsibility for the technical delivery of projects, including scope, programme, resources, technical risk and quality.
Coordinate structural design with architects, civil and building services engineers, geotechnical specialists and other disciplines.
Attend design team, progress and client meetings, providing clear, confident and constructive technical input.
Build effective relationships with clients, contractors and external stakeholders, understanding their requirements and resolving technical issues.
Undertake structural inspections, surveys, assessments and investigations of existing buildings and structures where required.
Support site activities by responding to technical queries, reviewing construction information and undertaking site inspections.
Ensure all designs comply with relevant UK and Northern Ireland standards, codes, regulations and project requirements.

We are looking for a driven and experienced Senior Structural Engineer with a strong technical background and a proven track record in structural engineering design and project delivery.
As the successful candidate, you will have:
A degree, or equivalent qualification, in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
Professional membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStructE) and/or the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE).Demonstrable post-Chartership experience in structural…
