This role will be based in Portsmouth
Key Responsibilities of Marine Electronics Service Engineer Conduct VDR and APT inspections, servicing, and maintenance. Perform radio surveys and certification activities in accordance with regulatory requirements. Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain GMDSS communication equipment, navigational equipment, and VSAT satellite broadband systems. Execute retrofit projects, including complete bridge installations and large-scale system integrations. Diagnose and resolve electronic and electrical faults onboard vessels.
Complete service reports, documentation, and compliance records accurately. Provide technical support and customer service to vessel operators and clients. Travel to customer sites, ports, shipyards, and offshore locations as required. Requirements of Marine Electronics Service Engineer HNC, ONC, NVQ Level qualification, or equivalent national standard education. Technical education or qualification in Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, IT, or a related discipline.
Strong knowledge of electronic and electrical engineering principles. Current full driving licence. Valid passport with the ability to travel internationally. Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desirable GMDSS Radio Operator and/or Maintainer Licence.
Experience with bridge system integration projects. Knowledge of maritime communication, navigation, and satellite systems. Previous experience working in shipyards, offshore environments, or commercial marine operations Benefits Annual performance bonus based on company and individual performance.
