Offsite Design Manager About the Role Sigmar Recruitment is partnering with a leading engineering and building services organisation to recruit an Offsite Design Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced design professional to lead a specialist engineering team delivering innovative offsite and modular construction solutions across large-scale residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use projects.

This role offers the chance to take ownership of projects from concept through to fabrication and installation, while managing and developing a high-performing design team.

Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of design engineers, driving quality, performance, and continuous improvement. Manage the delivery of offsite and modular design solutions from concept through to fabrication-ready drawings. Review tender and employer requirements and develop practical, compliant design solutions. Produce and oversee schematics, calculations, specifications, and plant schedules. Coordinate multidisciplinary services within plant areas, ensuring buildability and efficient installation.

Work closely with production and project teams to align design outputs with fabrication programmes. Support material selection, specification compliance, and fabrication standards. Carry out occasional site visits, surveys, and installation reviews. Monitor design performance, resource allocation, and project delivery metrics. About You Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years' experience in a design leadership or senior design role.

Strong understanding of MEP/building services design and coordination. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience mentoring and developing engineering teams.

Desirable Experience

Experience with in offsite manufacturing, modular construction, or prefabricated M&E solutions. Background in commercial, industrial, or large-scale building services projects.
