Your RoleHere’s what you will be doing:
- Support the regulation of nuclear licensed sites, ensuring safe nuclear operations.
- Work as an Electrical inspector making regulatory decisions on design, installation, operation, and maintenance of systems and equipment.
- Assess safety demonstration, suitability of safety management processes, and innovations enhancing safety.
- Participate in development of national and international standards and guidance.
- Specify and lead research projects and collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to assess risks holistically.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with licensees, government bodies, and international partners.
- Communicate clearly, work effectively in teams, influence appropriately, and make sound judgements.
The company is looking for:
- A relevant degree (BEng, MEng, BSc, MSc) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Controls, Computing, Physics, or other relevant subjects.
- A minimum 2:2 degree classification.
- Strong technical capability combined with effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly, work well in teams, influence others, and make sound judgements.
- Self-awareness including understanding limits and when to seek support.
- Right to work for the duration of the 2-year programme and willingness to travel and relocate.
- Successful completion of security clearance checks.
- Salary of £30,000 per year.
- £5,500 individual travel budget for training and meetings.
- £3,500 flexible individual training budget.
- Access to three secondments across the UK nuclear sector.
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
- 6 discretionary days leave for study and relocation.
