The Water Utilities DivisionThe Water Utilities Division is Mott Mac Donald’s centre of excellence for responding to the UK and Ireland’s water and wastewater challenges. We protect safe water supplies, prevent urban flooding, and improve river and coastal health through advisory services, feasibility studies, and design.
Overview of the RoleEvocation and delivery of civil engineering design across a broad range of projects, including:
- Water treatment
- Water distribution and storage
- Wastewater drainage and recycling
- Desalination
We work with UK and Ireland water utility companies, as well as governmental organisations and private companies in the UK and overseas, covering all project phases from feasibility studies to handover.
Responsibilities- Work across multiple UK and Ireland water companies.
- Participate in multi‑disciplinary design teams in project delivery.
- Prepare design submissions to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Undertake studies, concept, preliminary and detailed design.
- Collaborate with clients and other stakeholders.
- Civil engineering degree
- Water and/or wastewater engineering design experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of the importance of prioritising health, safety, and environmental issues
- Proactive approach, with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios
- Working towards Chartership
- Strong digital capability
- Project management experience is not essential but desirable
