The platform supports volunteers through the volunteering process and helps connect more people with a wider range of opportunities. There’s lots of great features to Be Collective like messaging, making a profile, and being able to compile all your experiences, training and roles as well as the skills gained within a social CV.
You can search and apply for volunteer roles below. If you can’t find anything you like you at the moment – register now, then check back soon – new opportunities are added all the time!
Breakthrough T1D
Join our Event Crew at our fun, family-friendly One Walk at the Stormont Estate on Saturday 19 September. Help us make sure the event runs like clockwork and create a fun, welcoming atmosphere as the T1D community comes together to take on a scenic walk, to raise awareness and vital funds for type 1 diabetes research.
What skills or experience do I need? You don’t need any specific skills or experience – you just need to be friendly and enthusiastic, with a can‑do attitude. We’ll give you all the information you’ll need before you start your role, and there’ll be someone on hand on the day to support you.
What training and support will I receive? We’ll send you a copy of our Volunteer Handbook, which will give you all the information you’ll need to know about volunteering with us. We’ll also ask you to sign and return a copy of our Volunteer Agreement, which sets out what we’ll do to support you, and what we expect from you, during your time volunteering with us.
We’ll make sure you have the name and contact details of a staff member who will support you before the event, and of the person responsible for the event on the day.
We’ll tell you in advance what your role on the day will be and two weeks before the event, we’ll invite you to a pre‑event briefing (online) to give you more information and answer any questions you have.
We’ll send you a volunteer information pack with confirmation of your role on the day, details of timings for the day, the walk route, and other relevant event information. We’ll ask you to read and sign our safeguarding guidelines, and also complete and return an emergency contact form before you volunteer at the event.
We’ll give you a Breakthrough T1D t‑shirt to wear.
There’ll be a face‑to‑face briefing at the start of the event, as well as any role‑specific training, and there’ll be someone on hand throughout the day in case you have any questions.
We’ll send you an expense form to claim back any out‑of‑pocket expenses (please see our volunteer expenses policy in the Volunteer Handbook).
