We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Private Client Tax Partner to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Private Client practice. This is a senior leadership position offering genuine influence over strategy, growth, and culture, with responsibility for delivering exceptional advisory services to a high-value and complex client base.

Role Overview

In this influential role, you will provide leadership across the Private Client Tax service line, acting as a trusted advisor to entrepreneurs, high-net-worth individuals, families, and trustees. You will lead complex and technically challenging advisory work spanning income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, trusts, succession planning, and wider wealth structuring, while setting the strategic direction of the practice alongside the wider Partner group.

As a Partner, you’ll take ownership of client relationships, portfolio performance, and business development, while playing a central role in firmwide decision‑making. You will be instrumental in growing the Private Client Tax offering, identifying new market opportunities, and building a sustainable, high‑performing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing strategic leadership of the Private Client practice, with overall responsibility for a diverse portfolio of high‑value personal tax, estate planning, and wealth advisory clients.
  • Acting as the lead advisor on complex and high‑risk matters, including estate planning, lifetime wealth structuring, trusts, residence and domicile, and cross‑border tax issues.
  • Setting and delivering the strategic growth plan for the Private Client service line, aligned to firmwide objectives.
  • Owning and developing key client relationships, operating as a trusted advisor at the most senior level and ensuring consistently high standards of service delivery.
  • Driving business development activity, including networking, market presence, thought leadership, and proposal leadership.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing senior managers and future leaders within the team, fostering a high‑performance and collaborative culture.
  • Contributing to firmwide Partner discussions, strategic initiatives, and operational improvements across the wider practice.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • ACA, CTA, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Extensive experience in Private Client Tax at Partner, Director, or equivalent senior leadership level.
  • Deep technical expertise across personal tax, trusts, estate planning, and high‑net‑worth advisory work.
  • Proven ability to originate, grow, and retain significant client relationships.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing portfolio profitability and contributing to strategic growth.
  • Demonstrable leadership capability, with a track record of developing high‑performing teams and future leaders.
  • Strategic, entrepreneurial mindset with the confidence to shape direction and influence at firmwide level.
