I am working with a well-established organisation on their Assistant Accountant position. This is a great opportunity to join a busy finance team, supporting purchase ledger, revenue analysis, reconciliations, and month‑end processes. The role offers a broad range of responsibilities across the accounts function, making it ideal for someone looking to build strong all‑round finance experience.
What We’re Looking For- Previous experience in an accounts or finance role
- Strong understanding of purchase ledger and reconciliations
- Experience with credit control and cash handling is advantageous
- Good attention to detail and strong numerical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Process purchase invoices, match to purchase orders, and assist with supplier payments
- Perform monthly supplier statement and purchase ledger reconciliations
- Reconcile bank and cash accounts, including verification of cash takings
- Monitor and analyse daily revenues, investigating any discrepancies
- Support credit control activities and follow up on outstanding payments
- Assist with month‑end processes and management accounts preparation
- Support annual audit requirements and maintain accurate financial records
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team as required
