Artemis Human Capital is exclusively partnering with a growing, well-structured business to recruit an Assistant Accountant ready to take the next step towards Management Accounts.

This role is designed for someone who wants more than transactional exposure — offering the chance to get properly involved in month‑end, reporting and financial analysis, while still maintaining a strong grounding in core finance operations.

You’ll work closely with an experienced Head of Finance, gaining hands‑on exposure and the support needed to develop into a more senior accounting role.

This is a broad, progressive role where you’ll gradually take on more responsibility across financial reporting and analysis.

You’ll split your time between supporting month‑end and maintaining strong control across day‑to‑day finance processes — giving you the full picture of how a finance function operates.

• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Post journals, accruals and prepayments
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with variance analysis and reporting packs
• Support audit and year‑end processes

• Oversee supplier invoices, reconciliations and payment runs
• Maintain accurate ledgers and financial records
• Resolve queries and ensure smooth day‑to‑day processing
• Support cashflow‑related activities

• Assist with pricing and financial queries across the business
• Support quarterly claims and financial adjustments
• Contribute to process improvements and reporting enhancements
• Work closely with the Head of Finance on priorities and deadlines

You’re at the stage where you want to move beyond pure processing and into a more analytical, reporting‑focused role.

• Part‑qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or qualified Accounting Technician
• Experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
• Exposure to month‑end processes and reconciliations
• Strong Excel skills and systems experience
• Curious, motivated and keen to progress
